The Visibility Series: Highlighting Women Entrepreneurs in Western Massachusetts

Celebrating female-created businesses across the Pioneer Valley, and helping them be seen.

As a branding photographer, I see how often business owners stay hidden, not because they lack skill, but because their visual presence doesn’t reflect the level they’re operating at.

The Visibility Series was created to highlight women entrepreneurs in Western Massachusetts who are building meaningful, impactful businesses and to show what it actually looks like to show up with clarity, confidence, and intention online.

This isn’t just about highlighting businesses. It’s about showing what strategic visibility actually looks like, and how the right visuals can support real business growth.

I see firsthand how visibility transforms a business, not just in how it looks, but in how it grows, connects, and converts.

Featuring Michele Lyman – Serenity Yoga | South Hadley, Massachusetts

Serenity Yoga includes a dedicated makers space, where local creators can display and sell their products.

Every entrepreneur has a story behind the work they do.

For the next feature in my Western Massachusetts Women in Business Visibility Series, I’m excited to introduce someone who has become a true staple in South Hadley’s wellness and entrepreneurial community, Michele Lyman, Owner of Serenity Yoga.

Meet Michele

Headshots that include personality and support your business

There are certain people in a community who quietly become part of its foundation. The people who consistently show up, support others, connect people behind the scenes, and genuinely want to see others succeed. Michele Lyman is one of those people in South Hadley.

Michele is also a staple in the South Hadley small business community. Through her involvement with the local Chamber of Commerce, including serving as Treasurer for many years. She continually helps support local entrepreneurs and create stronger connections between businesses. She’s the kind of person who remembers what you do, asks thoughtful questions, introduces people who should know each other, and genuinely wants others to succeed.

And honestly? That energy shows up everywhere in her business.

The Business - Serenity Yoga & Wellness

Michele opened Serenity in 2012 after years in the corporate world, where she experienced firsthand the pressure, overwhelm, and disconnect so many people silently carry. Yoga became a way for her to slow down, reconnect, and move through life with more clarity and steadiness and that philosophy is deeply woven into everything she does today.

As the owner of Serenity Yoga & Wellness, Michele has created far more than a yoga studio. She’s created a space where people feel welcomed, grounded, supported, and seen. Whether you walk through her doors for yoga, mindfulness, Pilates, Reiki, or simply a breath between the chaos of life, there’s an immediate sense that this space was built with intention.

There’s a warmth to Michele that immediately puts people at ease. She listens deeply. She creates space for people to simply be themselves. In a world that constantly pushes performance, productivity, and hustle, Michele’s work feels like an invitation back to presence.

That idea of presence is something Michele is leaning into even more as her brand evolves.

While Serenity Yoga & Wellness has long been known as a welcoming yoga and wellness studio in Western Massachusetts, Michele’s current focus goes deeper than movement alone. Her work now centers around helping people step out of survival mode and reconnect with themselves in a more intentional, grounded way.

And it feels incredibly aligned.

How Michele Uses Her Brand Photos

These images were designed to help Michele show up online in a way that feels aligned with both her business and her presence.

She can use them across:

• Her website
• Instagram and social media content
• Community and Chamber features
• Wellness workshops and promotions
• Email marketing and brand storytelling

Strong branding photos help business owners create consistency and trust, especially for businesses built around personal connection and experience.

Why Visibility Matters in the Wellness World

For wellness-centered businesses like Michele’s, visibility isn’t about being loud.

It’s about building trust.

People want to know who they’re walking into a room with. They want to feel the energy behind a business before they ever book a class, attend a workshop, and step through the door.

That’s why strategic branding photography matters so much for businesses built around human connection.

Your presence becomes part of the brand experience.

And Michele’s brand reflects exactly what people can expect when they work with her: calm energy, genuine support, connection, and community.
