Spring Family Photos -Western Mass Family Photographer

Spring is my favorite season for family photos.  Flowers are blooming, the temperature is warming up and families are ready to get outside!  When it comes to family photography, spring has some serious competition with fall, the unofficial family photo season.  This spring I’m offering petite sessions as an incentive to try something new.  So what is a petite session?  

It is more than a mini session

For mini sessions everyone must show up ready to listen for best results in a short amount of time. For quieter children who need more time to warm up, children who need some time to explore, or families with multiple young children I would recommend a petite or full session. Mini sessions are often holiday focused. My only mini sessions come in the fall, school portraits, tree farm sessions, and Santa sessions. Mini sessions are perfect for those who want an updated family photo, just the siblings or mommy/daddy and me. Most of these arrangements take place during a full session, but are not all possible in the shorter time frame of a mini session.  

It is less than a full session

For a full session you choose the location and there is enough time to explore our surroundings for genuine family interactions and fun.  I’m a big fan of including the environment in the photographs I take, and the extra time allows for those sweeping landscape shots featuring your family.  Your family is the only session that evening which allows for images that include all the beauty of golden hour.  But the biggest take away is all of your images are included in the session fee.

A petite session is the perfect mix of both

A petite session allows for more time to get to know your family and for everyone to get comfortable with me, and my camera. Thats when the unique relationships within your family begin to shine and the real moments happen. 

My petites are inspired by the seasons. We’re so lucky to have ever-changing, dynamic landscapes in Western Massachusetts.  Spring blooms, warm summer nights,  fall foliage, and golden winter sunsets. Like a mini session, petite sessions will happen on a specific date and at location chosen by me.  A few other families will also have sessions that evening and the time slots are first come first served. 

Whatever type is right for you, you won’t ever regret getting outside and creating memories with your family.
