Reasons to Book a Winter Photo Session
Dare I say it? Outdoor winter photography is so underrated. It gets written off because it’s cold and the trees are bare, but there are other ways to add depth and interest to your images. There are evergreen trees, bodies of water, ice, and snow, but most importantly the sunsets are epic. It’s a fact that winter sunsets are the best. Here’s three reasons you should book a winter photo session.
The best sunsets of the year.
Sunsets are a huge part of my photography style, so if you’re also a lover of epic sunsets in your images, it’s the biggest reason to give winter a try. The sun fades slower in the winter and creates warm orange light and spectacular sunsets. Have you seen a sunset lately?? With light clouds you can watch the colors go from blue and purple to pink and orange. It’s something about being closer to the sun and the cleaner, filtered light that makes them that much better, but I’ll spare you the details.
We live in New England
Part of the beauty of New England is that we experience the seasons. Over time we’ve become hardened to the winter, automatically it’s a time to hunker down and stay warm inside. But now more than ever being stuck inside contributes to a confined, anxious, cooped up feeling. It’s important to get outside, have fun, and enjoy what this season has to offer.
Extra adventure, family snuggles and fun.
A snuggly, bundled up session adds connection, emotion and realness to your family images. Add layers, scarfs, hats, who doesn’t melt seeing a cute beanie on a baby. Snuggle your family, blankets are welcomed.
As always, it’s an adventure. Have a snowball fight, run, explore, find animal prints in the snow. Breathe in the fresh air. If you’re a hearty family who doesn’t mind the cold (30+ degrees) come out and play. Give a winter session a try! Look how dreamy it can be.
